The Effects of Maternal and Paternal Body Mass Index on Live Birth Rate after Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Cycles
Authors
Abstract:
Objective The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of couple`s obesity simultaneously on in-vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) outcomes. MaterialsAndMethods This cross-sectional study was performed in Royan institute between January 2013 and January 2014. The recorded data of all patients during this time period were evaluated. The study population was limited to ICSI or IVF/ICSI cycles with autologous oocytes and fresh embryos transfer, which height and weight in both gender recorded. Moreover, multilevel logistic regression analysis was used to determine the odds of live birth rate following ICSI or IVF/ICSI cycles. Results In total, 990 couples underwent the IVF/ICSI cycles during the study period. Among the ovulatory women, a significant difference was found between the groups with a different body mass index (BMI), with 60% (95% CI, 0.11 to 0.83) and 84% (CI, 0.02 to 0.99) decreases in the odds of live births among the overweight and obese subjects, respectively. Among the anovulatory women, the association between the BMI and live births presented no clear tendencies. No significant relationship was found between the men’s BMI and live births. The results demonstrated no significant association between the couples’ BMI and the live birth rate. Conclusion On the basis of the present findings, an increased female BMI independently and negatively influenced on birth rates after ICSI treatments, while an increased male BMI had no impact on live births after ICSI cycles either alone or combined with increased female BMI.

full textP-63: The Effect of Bromocriptine Rebound Method on Ongoing Pregnancy and Live Birth after Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Cycles: A Randomized Prospective Clinical Trial
Background: To assess whether Bromocriptine Rebound Method (BRM), can improve pregnancy outcomes after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles. Materials and Methods: In this prospective study, we analyzed data from a total of 117 women who underwent ICSI cycles. Pregnancy outcomes and hormonal data were compared between long protocol and BRM groups. Ovulatory women with normal serum pro...

Purpose To evaluate whether women with endometriosis have different ovarian reserves and reproductive outcomes when compared with women without this diagnosis undergoing in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI), and to compare the reproductive outcomes between women with and without the diagnosis considering the ovarian reserve assessed by antral follicle count (AFC). ...
